Now we did do quite a bit of service

Image
OK so this week has been pretty fun. So let me dive on into it. Monday- It was P-Day! We were really excited because the Shelby Elders came up for it. They had extra miles so they could "afford" it. We played games all day. It was pretty fun. Tuesday- We actually did 3 lessons on Tuesday!! So that was really awesome. Wednesday- We had a district council. We went up to Choteau. One of the people we are teaching has decided to get baptized and picked a date! This is going to be my 4th baptism I get to be a part of and I'm so excited. Something really cool that the youth of one of my wards does is put out flowers for memorial day on all the graves without flowers. We were able to do that with them this week and it was really fun! Thursday- We helped paint and did quite a bit of contacting.  Friday- We did a ton of raking that day and quite a bit of contacting.  Saturday- We did some more service and no one really was available to meet because of memorial day weekend but we ...

Now we did help perform service multiple times this week.

O.K. so this week was quite a bit of service! Monday- (P-day) In my new area, we don't get together with the other missionaries in my district because we're too far away from each other and we need to conserve our miles. So we mostly hung out in the apartment.    Tuesday- We went and helped paint a person's porch railing and then we had a lesson with a woman named Lydia. Wednesday- We had district council first thing in the morning and then we had a member lesson. We then did some more yard work, and some street contacting. When we went back home we found an ancient paper area book in the apartment and were able to find a few matching profiles and get some lessons from the early 2000's moved into our digital area book. Thursday- We spent Thursday up in Choteau (pronounced "show dough") and we had an... interesting lesson with a person being taught up there. They just wanted to ask us/rant to us about politically charged subjects. We then volunteered at a bloo...

I did travel north and west unto the land called Conrad

Transfers happened and by the title you can pretty much guess how transfers went. Well I'll get started with the week.  Monday- We had P-day and didn't do too much. That night I got the call that I was going to Conrad! I'm excited for the change but I will really miss my awesome companion.  Tuesday-I was mainly packing to go up to Conrad. It's a small town (Which I really like) that's an hour south of the Canadian border.  Wednesday- I got on the transfer bus at 6:00am and was on the bus until around 1pm. This where I got off in Helena. After that we had to wait for another missionary to ship down to Bozeman. So when I finally got to the apartment in my new area it was around 6pm. My New companion is named Elder Telek and seems really nice. I had 1 hour to unpack and then we had a service project up until 9. We were putting up awnings that had been repainted. Thursday- We had district council up in Great Falls and because of that we burned through a lot of our miles...

Now it came to pass that we had transfer news....

Hi Everyone!!  Monday-  We did a little Frisbee golf and met up with the rest of the district. Tuesday We did some studying and then had some lunch. We realized we didn't like the set up of the apartment and we re-arranged the living room. After that we went and did some weekly planning. We then went contacting in the park and had an interesting interaction. It went down roughly like this:  Us: Hi, how is it going?  Them: good. Oh you're wearing name tags, is that so you don't forget who you are? hahaha!  Us: Yeah, 😁 we're actually missionaries for our church. Are you religious very much? Them: We're Baptists. Us: Oh, that's awesome. Would you possibly be willing to hear a message about Jesus Christ that we could share with you? Them: No, we love the Lord. Us: (confused looks while they walked away) So yeah that was pretty interesting.  Wednesday: MAY THE FOURTH! It was a pretty good day. We tried to contact some people who were previously taught. We had d...

And we did break ground at a community garden

OK so it has been a bit of a week. Monday- We went Frisbee golfing at this really awesome course. There is one hole that you have to fling the Frisbee off of a cliff!! My mom would have been freaking out!  Tuesday- We had a weekly planning session and a fire comp study! I love learning about the gospel and having time to dive deep into the scriptures and really learn more!  Wednesday- We had an amazing street contacting session where the first two people we contacted were willing to take a Book of Mormon.  Thursday- we had District Council and 4 meals that day! 😋 So we had breakfast and then were invited to Buffalo wild wings. Then we went to a member's house for a new member lesson and they were cooking up steaks and offered us some. (How could we refuse a steak!?) We then had a personal study session and went to dinner with a member who gave us a dozen eggs and a few steaks that we could cook up later. It was a great day. Friday- We had a lot of meetings and contacting...
